For $120, I expected solid construction instead of Chinese plastic. Shame on me for not doing enough research. Do not be fooled by the picture- this carafe is very light and does not appear to have any metal in it's construction. The most significant issue is the time it keeps coffee warm. If you do not drink the coffee within 2 hours, forget it- you might as well microwave it. I was looking for 6-8 hours of keeping coffee super hot, but this carafe is more for people having dinner parties who only need to keep the coffee hot for a couple hours.

I am sure this is the same one that I use every day. I use it for my tea. I make the carafe full and take it - 2 hours later - to work and enjoy until into the afternoon my really hot tea. I do know it is not their top of the line product, but it holds up very well to the others. I am using alfi carafes since over 30 years, I cannot live without them and I only exchange them due to wanting to have a change in the decor. This carafe is definitely out of my price range but for some reason I feel compelled to defend it. We were at a hotel recently and loved the room service coffee carafe so much we wrote down the make and model and looked it up on Amazon. This is it! It is solid and sturdy and we had hot coffee all morning (lazy trip). It is nice and heavy an the top seals perfectly. It also looks very high-end. I will definitely get one before summer so we can spend even more lazy mornings on the deck.
