We've been using the Capresso CM200 coffee maker for several months, and the carafe broke last week. So we ordered a replacement. This carafe appears to be the very same one that came with our coffee maker, the one we've been using for months. The lid actually does a nice job of working with the machine to stop the coffee flow if you just can't wait to pour that first cup of coffee. I've seen the occasional drip, but this has worked much better than other machines we've had.Since this is a replacement product, I don't understand the complaints. It's not as if the manufacturer is shipping an inferior product than the one that comes with the coffee maker.BOTTOM LINE: If your carafe breaks and you need a replacement, this one does a great job. You won't know the difference.

THIS GLASS DECANTER IS FLIMSY!The impressive looking (in the photos) handle is not a solid piece, but is instead comprised of two, thin wall plastic sections that are snapped together. The handle makes creaking noises when it's picked up and the feel of it reminds me of the old "snap together" model cars I built in the 1970s. I'm reasonably certain that I could crush the handle with one hand if I squeezed hard enough. It's difficult to believe that the decanter will last over extended periods of time. In the meantime, I get to experience the dissatisfying feeling of it in my hand everytime I pour a cup of coffee.The handle SHOULD be made from a solid plastic casting - preferably ABS. That would cost money (perhaps an extra 65 cents or so), so they took the cheap way out here. A proper handle would shout "QUALITY," while the present handle sceams "JUNK." I'd gladly pay an extra $10 for this unit if it were equipped with a decent handle.For what it's worth, I'm a mechanical engineer who designs things for the real world every day. I'd have a hard time working for a company that forced me to designing something as cheesy as this decanter.
