The filter system seemed to work fine initially. It allows you to use your own coffee and makes a much stronger cup than the regular K-cups. You need to use a coarse ground coffee because the filter will allow a few very small particles through but that didn't bother me much. But after just 6-8 weeks use the plastic holder started to break and fall apart. It's made of very thin and cheap plastic and is not designed to last or withstand the high temperatures of the brewer. Oh well, you get what you pay for. I would advise avoiding this product, spending a little more and getting a better quality re-usable system.

This alternative replacement filter system worked great for me. Did just what I wanted which was to make a single cup of coffee without the waste of the plastic container. Unfortunately, after less than a month's use, both the seating and the lid ripped. Not just a little crack, either--large rips that look as if the machine tried to tear it apart. I followed the directions faithfully, so I'm not sure what happened. I'm debating on sending it back for a replacement since I really liked it. If I do, I'll write an update review.

This is an easy way to use the coffee maker, and allow you to use your own fresh ground. It isn't clear from the website that you need to use the filter AND the filter holder with the coffee maker. Also, the holder will not fit in all of the single serve Keurig coffee makers. This 'system' includes both the filter and the holder. I bought some extra filters, and run the filters and the holder on the top rack of the dishwasher, which makes it even easier. As a bonus, you don't have all the extra garbage from the one time use cups.
