I love the smooth lines of this compact tamper - quite artful. It's a fairly lightweight, hollow tamper, and this could be a plus or a minus depending on your preference.The tamping surface has a nice smooth polish. The convex curve of the tamper is probably a European Curve (certainly more than the shallower American Curve).One important note is that the size is not as advertised. I've seen this tamper many places, and it's diameter is always specified as 2" or 51mm. The actual diameter is 47mm (close to 1 7/8"). I have a feeling that Amco has provided incorrect specifications since all vendors have the identical, but incorrect diameter.

There was no picture provided on this tamper when I bought it on Amazon so I trusted that they were all basically designed the same, but this one is rounded on the bottom which would make it hard to evenly tamp the coffee grounds, also it was a bit small.

This is the perfect size for the Mr. Coffee ECM160 espresso machine. It is rounded on the bottom but I haven't run into any problems. Feels good in the hand and is attractive, that's good enough for me!
