This Bunn 392 pourover is an excellent machine, as pointed out in other reviews. I bought mine for home use as we are heavy coffee drinkers and we all love this unit. Previously, we've had a series of home use, light duty coffee makers that needed to be cleaned with vinegar or replaced about monthly and often broke due to clogs in the valve or tubing that heats the water. With this unit, there is no reason to have either of those points of failure as it works differently than home coffee makers. However, this difference in how it works should be considered before buying this for home use:This type of coffee maker has a small electric hot water heater inside that maintains near boiling temperature at all times. When you pour in more water, that water flows into the hot water heater, displacing already heated water which then pours out of a small "shower head" into the funnel which contains the grounds and filter. Therefore, this uses more electricity than a drip coffee maker (since it is keeping water hot 24/7, and always has a reservoir full of water (approx 2-2.5 pots capacity). If you only brew coffee in the morning, you may want to get an appliance timer with this unit as it has no timer built in. It doesn't come with the carafes, and the filters for it are a little larger than the typical home use filters, even though I usually get away with using the normal ones...Overall, this is an excellent lifetime piece of equiptment for home use, and I'm sure an excellent commercial unit that really does brew a great pot of coffee in under 3 minutes (once the water in the internal hot water heater is hot). But home consumers should be aware of the differences in how these commercial units work before purchase.For my family of heavy coffee drinkers I don't regret this purchase at all! We got it from Webstaurant store, and had it plus a couple of carafes within 2 days of ordering, for about 175.00 total.
